Anamaria Martinca is an actress from Romania. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as the best actress. She speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian proficiently. Her mother was a violinist, Her father is a theatre professor at one of Romania's top drama schools. The Mangalia Gala, which is a celebration of Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008, she was honoured as a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. Aside from her brilliant performance in the film, Anamaria Marinca is best remembered for her role in the Romanian artist-directed film 4 Months 3, Weeks, 2, Days. This film received a number of distinctions, among them being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress from the British Film Critics. She was in 2007 the lead role in as a character in the Romanian movie 4 luni 3 semaines si2 (4 Three Weeks, Four Months, and 3 Weeks, 2 Days) which was directed produced by Cristian Mungiu. The film won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). In addition, she appeared as a child in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim Angwar, the BBC miniseries of five episodes The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role in her role in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically well-known Five Minutes of Heaven. Later she was the role of Irma's German grandmother in Fury, which was released in 2014.
